Girls' soccer
Wayne Country Day 6, Coastal Christian 1
* Catherine Ford scored four goals and handed out an assist as Wayne Country Day turned back Coastal Christian 6-1 on Thursday afternoon.
Sarah Best opened the scoring for the Chargers in the sixth minute and Ford scored twice in the opening 40 minutes as Wayne Country Day led 3-0 at halftime.
Margaret Tanner scored off Ford's assist and Ford capped the scoring in the 74th minute.
The Chargers (6-4-0 overall) visit Rosewood today.
Golf
Walnut Creek LGA
* Hiromi Sueki claimed low gross during weekly play on the Walnut Creek Country Club links.
Faye Franklin and Charlotte Campbell tied for low net. Linda Cannon earned low putts.
Middle schools
* Softball: Four Oaks 6, Princeton 4 -- Taylor Carroll led the Bulldogs with two hits. Kortney Edwards, Kasey Johnson, Beth Braswell and Nevada Johnson each had one hit.Kasey Johnson recorded seven strikeouts inside the pitchers circle in 4 1/3 innings of work. The Bulldogs (8-1 overall) entertain Selma on Monday.
