GREENVILLE -- Drew Reynolds trotted home on Ben Fultz's walk-off sacrifice fly, and East Carolina defeated UAB, 6-5, in 13 innings to complete its Conference USA series sweep at Lewis Field inside Clark-LeClair Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Reynolds led the Pirates (19-8 overall, 4-2 CUSA) with three hits, while John Wooten (two RBI) and Bryan Bass added two hits apiece. Senior catcher Zach Wright provided one hit and drew two walks.
Reynolds (2-0) tossed a careeer-high four innings and logged a career-best six strikeouts in four innings of relief on the mound. ECU's bullpen permitted two runs (one earned) in 11 innings, and from the seventh inning on allowed just two base runners (walk and single) against the Blazers.
