Limestone ousts Trojan women

GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Limestone College built a 19-point first-half advantage and eliminated Mount Olive College, 81-59, from semifinal-round play of the 2012 Conference Carolinas women's basketball tournament Thursday evening.
The Saints, the West Division champions, entertain East Division champion Barton on Saturday. The winner earns the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional.
Tamara Nesmith led the Trojans with 22 points on 10 of 19 shooting and pulled down six rebounds. Jasmine McDonald contributed 16 points, including an 8 for 8 effort at the free throw line. Joneiqua Gary finished with 10 points, while Alyssa Luebs shared game-high honors with nine rebounds.
MOC concluded the year 19-9 overall.
