Trojan women stop North Georgia, 6-3

MOUNT OLIVE -- Come-from-behind singles wins by Molly Lentini and Francesca Ceppi clinched the overall match victory as Mount Olive defeated Peach Belt member North Georgia 6-3 in a non-conference women's tennis match Tuesday afternoon at Walker Tennis Center.
The Trojan women (5-2 overall) won two of three doubles matches and each of the first three singles matches to secure the win.
Marine Becker won in straight sets at No. 1 singles, but Lentini fell 6-4 in the first set at No. 2 singles and Ceppi dropped the first set 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Both players rallied to even their matches at a set apiece and Lentini won the third set 6-2. Moments later, Ceppi posted a 6-4 win in the third set to give the Trojans an insurmountable 5-1 lead.
Pietra Viana also won at No. 4 singles for Mount Olive.
Lentini and Viana combined for an 8-2 win at No. 1 doubles, while Becker teamed with Patricia Guedes to win 8-1 at No. 2 doubles.
The Trojan men (3-4) suffered an 8-1 loss.
Murilo Pelegrino claimed MOC's lone singles point.
Mount Olive entertains Belmont Abbey on Saturday. First serve is 11 a.m. at the Walker Tennis Center on the MOC campus.
