Gators receive awards

* SEVEN SPRINGS -- Spring Creek athletes were recognized for their accomplishments during a fall sports awards ceremony held Tuesday evening.

The award recipients were:

* Volleyball: Leadership -- Lolita Correno; Gator Award -- Bianca Morado; Spirit Award -- Olivia Martinez; All-Carolina Conference -- Kelsey Rogers.

* JV volleyball: Most Improved -- Vidalina Perez; Hustle Award -- Corrie Archer; Gator Award -- Sydney Ocker.

* Boys' cross country: Gator Award -- Allen Coor; MVP -- Justin Cianfarra; Most Improved -- Eli Lane; All-Carolina Conference -- Coor.

* Girls' tennis: Coach's Award -- Tara Davis; Gator Award -- Brittany Carmack; All-Carolina Conference -- Emily Daniel, Colleen Finlay, Heather Frey and Katlyn Casey.

* Varsity football: Gator Award -- Carson Gramley; Most Improved Lineman -- Anthony Henriquez; Most Improved Back -- Luke Miller; All-Carolina Conference -- Matt Ponce and Trey Hammonds.

* Boys' soccer: Coach's Award -- Marcos Castaneda; Most Improved -- Antonio Avila; Gator Award -- Alonso Pineda; All-Carolina Conference -- Avila, Sal Carreno, Edgar Rangel, Omar Zavela and David Vega.

The award recipients were:

* Varsity volleyball: Senior Award -- Connor Davis, Brooke Bell and Rachel Jordan; Most Improved -- Brianna Brown; Jane Tyndall Memorial Award -- Davis.

* JV volleyball: Offense Award -- Courtney Warner; Defense Award -- Cierra Harris.

* Women's golf: MVP -- Tara Simmons; Most Improved -- Madison Aycock; Coach's Awards -- Jessie Stewart and Jordyn Howell.

* Varsity women's tennis: Co-MVPs -- Brooke Barfield and Ashton Walker; Coach's Award -- Brittanny Parrish; Most Improved -- Caroline Bone.

* JV women's tennis: Coach's Award -- Sara Newsome; Leadership Award -- Payton Anders.

* Varsity men's soccer: MVP -- Chase Thompson; Coach's Player-of-the-Year -- Cade Ivey; Offensive Player-of-the-Year -- Collin Zacharzuk; Defensive Player-of-the-Year -- Guillermo Proa.

* JV men's soccer: Offensive Player-of-the-Year -- Jacob Harrison; Defensive Player-of-the-Year -- Matthew Ivey.

* Women's cross country: MVP -- Cheyenne Warrick; Most Improved -- Gracie Parrott; Rookie-of-the-Year -- Ariel Strickland.

* Men's cross country: MVP -- Marvin Alexander; Most Improved -- Blake Sutton; Rookie-of-the-Year -- Charles Robertson.

Middle schools

* Girls' basketball: Wayne Christian 17, Christ Covenant 3 -- Emily Wells emerged the Eagles' top scorer with six points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Jennifer Potter contributed four points and six rebounds. Brooke Slusher and Kelsey Sanders had 10 rebounds apiece.
