Rosewood 42, Spring Creek 0

* Rosewood erupted for 42 points in the first half in its 42-0 homecoming victory over Spring Creek on Friday night.

The Eagles rushed for 424 yards and five touchdowns. Jamari McGowan led Rosewood with 129 yards and two touchdowns on eight carries. Shane Whitley contributed 128 yards on the ground and a pair of scores. Whitley also caught a 25-yard touchdown pass from Taylor McGill.

Jay Sellers added 111 yards rushing.

Rosewood (3-5, 1-2 CC) visits North Duplin next Friday while Spring Creek travels to Goldsboro.

Ayden-Grifton 40, North Duplin 0

* AYDEN -- North Duplin fell behind early and never recovered in a 40-0 loss at Carolina 1-A Conference foe Ayden-Grifton on Friday night.

Tyree Blount scored a pair of rushing touchdowns in the first quarter for the Chargers. Quan Green added a touchdown run in the second quarter as Ayden-Grifton built a 19-0 lead at halftime.

The Chargers (7-1, 3-0 CC) outgained the Rebels 379-71. Devin Olive led North Duplin with 25 yards on 10 carries.

The Rebels (4-4, 1-2) play host to Rosewood next Friday.

James Kenan 40, Midway 7

* WARSAW -- James Kenan rushed for 341 yards and rolled past Midway 40-7 on Friday night.

Devon Best led the Tigers with 201 yards and three touchdowns on 18 carries. Marcelias Sutton added 118 yards and two touchdowns on 12 carries. Raheim Phillips led the defense with 11 tackles and an interception return for a touchdown.

Kenan led 27-0 at halftime and won its fifth game in a row after starting the season 0-3.

The Tigers ( 5-3, 5-0 Tri-County 1-A ) visit Heide Trask next Friday.

Kinston 41, Greene Central 12

* KINSTON -- Greene Central suffered a 41-12 loss at Eastern Plains 2-A Conference opponent Kinston on Friday night.

Tray Hill led the Rams with 98 yards on 18 carries. Brandon Bishop added 74 yards. Greene Central finished with 231 yards on 52 carries.

Viknings' quarterback C.J. Bradshaw threw touchdown passes of 73 and 52 yards in the first half.

The Rams (4-4, 1-3 EPC) entertain Southwest Edgecombe next Friday.
