All-American Daniel Claytor blistered the front nine and emerged the individual leader with a 5-under 67 after opening-round play of the second annual CenturyLink Collegiate Invite on Monday.
Mount Olive College senior Valentina Urquiola and teammate Emilie Andersson concluded first-day action in a four-way tie atop the women's leaderboard with an 18-hole round of 3-over 75 on the Lane Tree Golf Club.
Claytor, a junior, enters today's second-round with a five-stroke advantage over four competitors -- Adam Hedges (Belmont Abbey), Kyle Ham (Mount Olive), Arnor Finnbjornsson (BA) and Barton's Nicolas Fonseca. Each shot an even-par 72.
