Trojans make several changes in athletics staff

MOUNT OLIVE -- A few faces, some old and some new, will work in different capacities for the Mount Olive College athletics department.

The college has announced five additions to their staff.

* Craig Hurba -- After serving as a volunteer assistant last season, the Mount Olive College alum has been promoted to assistant softball coach. Hurba will serve as hitting coach, among his other duties. Hurba was a 38th-round selection of the Texas Rangers in the 2004 Major League Baseball draft.

* Sarah Lusk -- Has been named assistant women's and men's volleyball coach. She has coached and played for the All-Army and All-Armed Forces women's volleyball teams. As head coach, Lusk guided the All-Army squad to the gold medal in the 2011 All-Armed Forces tournament. She also coached the All Armed Forces team at the Fifth Military World Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

* Kari Ann Mozingo -- Has been promoted to assistant athletic trainer. Mozingo joined the MOC training staff as a part-time assistant in the spring of 2011 and was promoted to full-time during the summer. Mozingo covered baseball during the spring and assisted in the athletic training for all Trojan sports.

* MedaLana Smith -- Has joined the men's and women's track and field staff as assistant coach for the 2012 season. Smith will work primarily with the throwers. She performed a strength and conditioning internship and served as a volunteer track and field coach at High Point University, where she completed her master's of science in sports studies. She also spent two years as an assistant track and field coach at Messiah College, her alma mater. Smith worked with the discus, hammer and shot put athletes.

* Frank Lamm -- The Western Carolina alum has been named the assistant sports information director. He has 22 years of experience in the media, primarily as a sports journalist and photographer. His primary duties include supplying information to student-athletes' hometown newspapers.
