GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Benedikt Schirmers and Angel Dache emerged the offensive leaders, and Mount Olive remained unbeaten in Conference Carolinas men's volleyball play with a 25-19, 25-23, 25-15 triumph over Limestone College.

Schirmers cranked out a team-high 13 kills and Dache added 10 kills for the Trojans, who matched their second-highest hitting percentage (.446) in a league contest this season.

Sophomore outside hitter Adam Miracle contributed eight kills. John David Nunns pounded out six kills, while Tim Ebbecke added five kills and a match-high five blocks. Jackson Mettecheccia passed out 37 assists in the straight-set triumph.

Dache and Schirmers each served three aces.

Mount Olive (17-6 overall, 5-0 CC) returns to action March 31 at in-state conference rival Pfeiffer University.

Tennis

WILSON -- Mount Olive College seized victories over two top-10 Atlantic Region teams and finished 3-0 overall during the men's North-South Duals contested at the Barton College Tennis Complex.

The Trojans (9-4 overall) emerged victorious in all three doubles matches and shocked No. 2-ranked Bluefield State College, 5-0. The tandems of Alex Queiros-Akio Mariano and Thiago Dualiby-Murilo Pelegrino each pulled out an 8-6 win.

Yoann Pham and Diogo Sender each earned a singles point.

Pham, Sender and Pelegrino each prevailed in singles and aided the Trojans' 5-1 upset of Concord, which entered the weekend ranked No. 9 in the Atlantic Region. MOC led 2-1 after doubles play.

MOC also defeated Davis & Elkins, 9-0.

The Trojan women (9-4) lost to nationally-ranked West Virginia State and shut out Concord, 9-0.

Softball

SALISBURY -- Mount Olive right-hander Carly White tossed a complete-game, three-hit shutout in a 4-0 victory over Catawba in game one of their non-conference doubleheader Sunday afternoon.

Catawba took the nightcap, 4-0.

White (7-6) earned her third shutout of the year. Robbin Kennedy paced the offense with three extra-base knocks, including a home run.

Snake bit in several doubleheaders this season, the Mount Olive team finally swept a Conference Carolinas opponent on Saturday afternoon.

White permitted one hit in six innings of work, and Kristen Ware notched the save in a 2-0 triumph over the Crusaders in the opening game.

Sarah Saunders threw a complete-game, three-hitter and logged five strikeouts as the Trojans secured the nightcap, 5-0.

Kennedy scored the game-winning run on Katie Moore's first-inning single in the opener. Kennedy collected two RBIs during the second contest, and plated Kelly Minshew with the game-winning run in the fourth inning.

The Trojans (15-18 overall, 3-1 CC) continue league play at home Tuesday against Erskine. First pitch is 2 p.m. at Nancy Chapman Cassell Field.
