* Baseball: Eastern Wayne 6, Southern Wayne 5 -- Derrick Bott and Ryan Faucette each batted 2-for-3 in the Warriors' road win. MJ Morgan and Josh Dixon added one hit apiece. Jeremy Lancaster claimed the mound victory and Justin Lee earned the save. Eastern Wayne (5-3 overall) improved to 3-0 in Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference play this season.
Middle schools
* Baseball: Wayne Christian 19, Myrtle Grove 2 -- Austin Howell pounded out three doubles in the Eagles' non-conference win. Chandler Gentry batted 2-for-2 with a double, while Carlyle Smith provided two hits. Tanner Rose emerged the winning pitcher. Wayne Christian (4-1 overall) entertains Wilson Christian on March 24.
