Queens' Sean Eads drove the lane and missed a layup, but Evans was there to grab the offensive rebound and put the ball back in for the Royals' game-winning basket.

Mount Olive (13-12 overall, 8-9 CC) concludes regular-season play at home Saturday against in-state rival St. Andrews. The Knights won the previous meeting. Tip-off is 4 p.m.

CHARLOTTE -- Andrea Jones and Laporsha Davis emerged Mount Olive's offensive leaders in a 72-57 setback against Queens University on the Conference Carolinas women's basketball scene Wednesday evening.

Jones pumped in 19 points and Davis added 18 for the Trojans, who had their six-game win streak snapped.

Queens owned a commanding 64-28 advantage on the board and out-scored Mount Olive 20-8 from the free throw line. The Royals attempted 25 shots from the foul stripe compared to just 12 for the Trojans.

The Royals led by 13 points with 12:29 to play when Mount Olive mounted its second comeback of the game.

Jones scored nine points and Davis added the other five to comprise a 14-4 run that pulled the Trojans within three at 51-48 with 7:29 to go. But two Marissa Hudley free throws, a three-point play by Shonice Pettaway and a jumper by Dyonna Battle made up a 7-0 run for Queens that put the Royals comfortably back in front by double-digits again with 5:30 to go.
