GREENWOOD, S.C. -- No. 5-ranked Mount Olive carried a two-run lead into the fifth inning against perennial Division II power Tampa (Fla.) on Sunday afternoon, but eventually endured a 10-4 loss on the final day of the Lander University Invitational.

Antonio Callaway, Ryan Faison and Jacob Rogers had two hits apiece for the Trojans.

Mount Olive (4-2 overall) broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the second inning as Dan Hayduk drew a one-out walk and scored one out later on Lee Murray's triple to center. Hayduk scored again in fourth, drawing a lead-off walk and eventually coming home on Callaway's two-out single.

Trojan starter Pete Levitt (1-1) overcame an error and two hits in the top of the first inning and took a three-hit shutout into the fifth. But Tampa (2-2) tied the game with two runs in the fifth and took the lead for good with two more runs in the sixth. A four-run, seventh inning broke the game open and the Spartans added two more runs in the eighth.

Hayduk doubled home a run in the eighth and Faison scored on a bases-loaded balk with one out in the bottom of the ninth. But a strikeout and a flyout ended the Trojans' rally.

MOC concludes its six-game road swing Tuesday at Division III N.C. Wesleyan College. The Trojans' home opener is the following afternoon against in-state foe Shaw University.
