GAFFNEY, S.C. -- Mount Olive slashed an 18-point, second-half deficit to two points in the final 16 seconds, but Limestone held on for 74-68, nationally-televised Conference Carolinas basketball victory Saturday afternoon.

CBS College Sports aired the Division II game of the week, the first-ever national broadcast in Trojan women's athletics history. The men's basketball and baseball teams each have one television appearance.

Point guard Shequanta McGee shot 9 of 11 from the floor and finished with 21 points for Mount Olive, which had its seven-game win streak snapped. The senior connected on her first eight shots from the field, including a long-range 3-pointer that banked off the glass in the opening half.

Andrea Jones added 19 points and Jasmine Whitby provided 16.

MOC climbed to within 51-47 with 10 minutes left in the second half. Whitby's 3-pointer and Jones' jumper capped a 15-4 run, but Limestone quickly built the lead back to nine points.

McGee's layup with 49 seconds and an offensive putback trimmed the Saints' advantage to 70-68 with 16 seconds left. Limestone's Tia Williams drained two free throws three seconds later, and Maria Young, who led all scorers with 24 points, added two free throws with four seconds to go.

Whitby snagged six rebounds and led all players with four steals. Jones passed out a career-best four assists.

The Trojans (11-5 overall, 8-2 CC) travel to Lees-McRae today.
