Rosewood achieved its goal.

Nick Quillen and Zach Behrend each fulfilled a mission.

The Eagles finished fourth overall in the highly-competitive 15th Eagle Invitational, while Quillen and Behrend claimed gold in their respective weight classes on Saturday evening.

Quillen pinned all four opponents he faced and earned Most Outstanding Wrestler accolades during the 21-day event. He needed three-plus minutes to pin returning state qualifier Tyler Eubanks, from East Carteret, in the championship match.

Behrend joined the program's Century Club when he notched his 100th career victory over Charles B. Aycock's David Romo in the 125-pound title bout. Behrend recorded two major decisions, one technical fall and a pin on the day.

"Zach had a plan all week," said Rosewood head coach Bill Edmundson. "Nick was on a mission as well. (He) didn't allow a single offensive point to be scored on him. He looked forward to the matchup against Eubanks all week."

Josh Pipkin finished runner-up at 160 pounds.

Several Rosewood matmen recorded either two or three wins, which helped the Eagles post a top-seven finish for the fourth straight year.

"Our guys get really psyched up for our tournament and tend to overachieve," said Edmundson. "The coaching staff couldn't be any more excited about our performance."
