Princeton volleyball wins, North Duplin loses

* PRINCETON -- Princeton rebounded from its loss in the Carolina 1-A Conference tournament with a 25-9, 25-15, 25-9 victory over North Hampton West in the first round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 1-A state playoffs on Saturday.
Linda Smith distributed 13 assists with six aces. Nicole Melvin provided seven kills and four aces. Traci Bridgers supplied five aces and five kills. Keely Myers contributed six digs and four aces.
Princeton faces an opponent to be determined on Tuesday.
Dixon 3, North Duplin 0
* HOLLY RIDGE -- North Duplin had its season come to an end with a 25-12, 25-12, 25-20 loss at Dixon in the first round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 1-A state playoffs on Saturday.
Ansley Hill finished with seven assists for the Rebels. Tearra Ammons added nine kills and three digs. Scarlett Martin had four blocks and three kills.
North Duplin finished its season 9-12.
