SNOW HILL -- Another all-Wayne County affair -- almost.
Eastern Wayne goes after singles and doubles championships today in the season-ending, Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference girls' tennis tournament.
The top-seeded tandem of Joann Talton-Janielle Daniel opposes teammates Grace Delbridge-Jackie Johnson in the title tilt. Talton-Daniel, the top seed, lost just three games in two matches en route to the final.
Delbridge-Johnson defeated Charles B. Aycock's tandem of Abbey Strickland-Katie Gurley in the semifinals to set up the Warriors' showdown. Strickland-Gurley faces teammates Harlie Howard-Misty Edwards in the third-place match.
All four teams have qualified for the eastern regional.
Top-seeded Miller Delbridge squares off against second-seeded Cailin Goff in the singles championship. Delbridge surrendered just four games in three straight-set victories, while Goff avoided a semifinal-round upset against the Warriors' Amber Miller.
Delbridge and Goff split their regular-season meetings.
Miller takes on Southern Wayne's Jessica Best for third place. Best, who was the Saints' No. 1 seed during regular-season play, eliminated North Lenoir's Catherine Shelton and Aycock's Brittany Parrish before falling to Delbridge in the semifinals.
Delbridge, Goff, Miller and Best will advance to the regionals.
