Boys' soccer
Wayne Christian 4, Cresset Christian 1
* Gregory Alexander punched in two unassisted goals and reigning Carolina Christian 1-A Conference champion Wayne Christian pounded Cresset Christian on Friday afternoon.
Chase Darden scored off Victor Kikoko's assist.
Kevin Wheeler assisted on Chris Smith's goal.
Keeper Chase King logged three saves for the state-ranked Eagles, who remained unbeaten in six CCC outings this season.
Wayne Christian (9-3-0 overall) travels to Faith Christian-Rocky Mount on Monday.
Girls' tennis
Wayne Christian 9, Cresset Christian 0
* Unbeaten Wayne Christian posted shutouts in six matches and lost just five games overall in a decisive conquest of Carolina Christian 1-A rival Cresset Christian.
Faith Sutton, Taylor Willman, Reagan Hinton and Ally Willman each logged an 8-0 shutout in their respective singles matches. Abigail Easom won 8-2, while Jessica Calvert triumphed 8-1.
In doubles, top-seeded Willman-Hinton and third-seeded Elizabeth Sutton-Benton each prevailed 8-0. Easom-Calvert emerged victorious 8-2 at the No. 2 slot.
Middle schools
* Boys' soccer: Wayne Christian 2, Neuse Charter 1 -- Victor Kokiko and Nathan Taylor each scored a goal for the Eagles. Nick Easom assisted Kokiko's score. Wayne Christian improved to 4-0-1 this season.
