Goldsboro Babe Ruth stays perfect

Goldsboro remained unbeaten on the Babe Ruth scene with 9-2 and 10-6 victories over Greene County on Saturday.
In game one, Needham Core emerged the winning pitcher. He permitted two hits and logged six strikeouts on the mound.
A.J. Lane batted 2-for-4. Teammates M.J. Morgan, Sherard Harvin, Resean Dickerson and Asunji Maddox provided one hit apiece.
In the nightcap, Morgan claimed the pitching win and Sam Ferrell earned the save with two innings of two-strikeout relief.
Trey Hammonds led Goldsboro's offense with two hits. Scott James, Ronald Woody, Scott Ferrell and Morgan each had one hit.
Goldsboro improved to 3-0 overall.

WC North goes 1-1
DEEP RUN -- Wayne County North collected seven runs in the final two innings and defeated South Lenoir 11-7 in game one of a Junior American Legion twinbill on Saturday.
Jake May (3 RBI) and Benito Avila (RBI) combined for five hits.
Logan Wicks, Josh Dixon and Jeremy Lancaster saw action on the hill for WC North. Dixon picked up the victory.
In game two, Nolan James (RBI) and Justin Lee (3 RBI) combined for three hits in a 6-4 defeat. James took the mound loss, while May provided one-plus inning of two-hit relief.
Wayne County North (2-4 overall) travels to Spring Creek on Tuesday.
