NEW LONDON -- Georgia Tech senior Chesson Hadley claimed medalist honors and the Yellow Jackets captured their second consecutive Atlantic Coast Conference men's golf championship on Sunday afternoon.

It was Tech's fourth title in the past five seasons.

"The thing is every round -- all five players were in it until the end and it just takes the pressure off everybody else," said Georgia Tech head coach Bruce Heppler. "I'm very proud that all five guys contributed and were a part of it. I'm happy for them and it certainly was a team victory."

Georgia Tech claimed an 841-854 triumph over Virginia on The Old North State Club course -- a par-72, 7,102-yard layout.

Hadley, from Raleigh, fired a 10-under par 206 and edged Virginia junior Will Collins by two strokes in the individual title chase. Collins is the fourth Cavalier to finish runner-up at the ACC Championship.

"The team title was the most important thing. I feel like everyone I know from Raleigh is here it's awesome," said Hadley.

N.C. State's Matt Hill, a junior from Ontario, claimed third-place individual honors with a seven-under-par 209. Hill was co-medalist winner with Clemson's David May in the 2009 ACC Championship.

After Saturday evening rain storms, Sunday was partly cloudy with blustery winds that greeted the players for the last day.

Virginia ended up second in the team portion for the first time since 1996. Duke and Wake Forest shared third place with a team score of 855, followed by Florida State, Clemson, N.C. State, Virginia Tech, Maryland, North Carolina and Boston College.

Duke was led by freshman Brinson Paolini, who tied for fourth place at six-under-par 210. Wake Forest's Brendan Gielow, a senior from Michigan, took the charge with a 5-under-par 211, which placed him in a tie for sixth place.

ACC teams will await selections for NCAA Regionals, which will be held May 20-22.
