Aycock takes ECC title

ERWIN -- Charles B. Aycock put the finishing touches on its third consecutive Eastern Carolina 3-A dual-team boys' tennis championship with a 9-0 thrashing of Triton on Tuesday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons claimed their 31st consecutive ECC victory, and clinched the No. 1 seed for the upcoming N.C. High School Athletic Association dual-team playoffs.
Blake Vail, Addison Westbrook, Will Hoff, Dylan Quinn and Brad Wilson each posted a straight-set, shutout decision in singles. Sixth-seeded Kareem Alawar claimed a 6-0, 6-2 win.
Westbrook-Quinn, Wilson-Alawar and Rex Rose-Austin Walker each earned a doubles point.
Weather permitting, C.B. Aycock (13-0 overall, 9-0 ECC) entertains Northern Nash today and concludes league play at home Thursday against Southern Wayne.
