Trojans' Moore, Easley, Leeper, Hudson receive notoriety

HIGH POINT -- Four athletes from Mount Olive College -- Helen Moore, Kendrick Easley, Bobby Leeper and Curtis Hudson -- have earned either player- or pitcher-of-the-week accolades in their respective sports.
Moore logged the Trojans' first triple-double, and just the second in program history, during a home victory over in-state rival Lees-McRae in women's basketball. A Kenly native, Moore tallied 19 points, 10 rebounds and tied the school record for single-game steals with 11.
Earlier in the week, Moore pulled down four defensive rebounds and drained 4 of 4 free throws in the final 52 seconds in a road win at Pfeiffer University. Moore finished with 14 points and seven rebounds in that game.
Easley averaged 31 points in two victories, including a 38-point outing at Pfeiffer, which ended in a 136-128 overtime decision for the Trojans. MOC clinched its sixth 20-win season in the last seven years, and preserved its No. 2 ranking in the Southeast Region.
Easley pumped in 24 points on senior night against Lees-McRae, and moved within 27 points of becoming Mount Olive's all-time career scoring leader. The senior guard has 2,139 points -- 26 less than current record holder Russell Stephens.
Leeper batted a scorching .750 in the Trojans' three-game sweep of Conference Carolinas opponent Anderson (S.C.) University. He batted 9 for 12 during the weekend, and just missed hitting for the cycle in a 4-for-4 performance in the second contest.
Leeper slugged a grand slam in game three against Anderson.
Hudson posted a 2-0 record with a 0.87 earned run average to help Mount Olive remain perfect in Conference Carolinas play this season. Hudson surrendered one earned run in a victory over Coker (S.C.) and yielded an unearned run in five-plus innings against Anderson.
In two mound appearances, Leeper recorded six strikeouts.
