GREENSBORO -- Six-foot-1 junior forward Samantha Coffer poured in 26 points and led Northern Guilford to an opening-round, 68-40 victory over Eastern Wayne in the N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A girls' basketball sectional playoffs.
Tiarra McIntyre led the Warriors with 16 points and two assists. Danielle Daniel contributed 10 points, two assists, two rebounds and two steals. Tia Jones provided seven points, seven rebounds and two blocked shots.
Eastern Wayne concluded the year 7-14 overall.
