Taylor, Connolly each place in individual events

CARY -- Charles B. Aycock's Taylor Allen and Bryce Connolly each logged a 14th-place finish in individual competition during the 2010 N.C. High School Athletic Association 3-A swimming championships on Friday.
Allen touched the wall in 26.40 seconds in the 50 free.
Connolly posted a time of 58.14 in the 100 free. She reached the finals with a 15th-place effort in the preliminaries.
The Golden Falcons' 200 free quartet of Allen, Taylor, Nicole McGrath and Carrigan Chastain ended up 14th in 1:52.2.
Aycock wound up 24th overall in the 37-team field.
1-A swimming
CARY -- Goldsboro standouts Travis Paul and Logan Cole have each secured a top-15 seed for two individual events during the NCHSAA 1-A/2-A championships on Monday at the Triangle Aquatic Center pool.
Paul is seeded 11th overall in the boys' 200 free and 500 free. Cole is seeded third in the 100 fly and 14th in the individual medley (IM).
Goldsboro will also compete in the boys' 200 medley relay.
