Carolina 1-A contests moved to Monday

Overnight and early-morning snowfall blanketed eastern North Carolina on Saturday.
The N.C. High School Athletic Association is allowing teams to play four games next week. Association rules limit teams to three contests per week, but the state is permitting four so that teams can make up their regular-season games and play in their conference tournaments.
Three Carolina 1-A Conference tripleheaders are scheduled for Monday -- Ayden-Grifton at Goldsboro, Rosewood at Princeton and Spring Ceek at North Duplin. The JV boys tip off at 4:30 p.m. with the varsity games immediately following at each site.
Goldsboro's boys have secured the No. 1 seed for the season-ending conference tournament, which will start Tuesday. The Cougars (15-7 overall, 9-0 CC) have also seized homecourt advantage throughout the NCHSAA sectional playoffs, which begin either Feb. 22 or 23.
Rosewood and Princeton's boys enter their game tied for third in conference play at 4-5. The winner gets the higher seed for the playoffs.
On the girls' side, Goldsboro holds a one-game lead over Ayden-Grifton. The Cougars (18-4, 9-0) have clinched a share of the regular-season conference championship, but can grab the outright No. 1 seed for the postseason with a victory.
ECC 3-A
The Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference tournament starts Monday.
Charles B. Aycock's girls, the No. 3 seed, oppose sixth-seeded Southern Wayne at Eastern Wayne. Tip-off is 6 p.m. The Warrior boys, seeded third, entertain sixth-seeded South Johnston immediately following the girls' contest.
The Golden Falcon and Warrior girls completed regular-season play tied for fourth in the conference. Depending on their tournament finish, the two county foes could face off in a play-in game at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
At Triton, fourth-seeded Eastern Wayne and fifth-seeded North Lenoir meet in girls' action. The boys' game is a matchup between two Hawks teams, fourth-seeded Triton and fifth-seeded North Lenoir, which finished tied for fourth in regular-season action. The winner grabs the No. 4 seed for the playoffs.
The semifinals are Wednesday at Southern Wayne and C.B. Aycock. The championship games will be contested Friday at the highest-remaining boys' seed.
Admission for quarterfinal- and semifinal-round play is $6. Admission for the championship games is $7.
Tri-County 1-A
WARSAW -- The final regular-season game between Duplin County archrivals James Kenan and Wallace-Rose Hill has been moved to Monday.
The JV boys tip off at 4:30 p.m.
The playoff-bound Tigers (11-6) could clinch a No. 3 seed in the postseason with a victory. A loss keeps Kenan in fourth place behind regular-season champ Pender, Union and W-RH.
Kenan's girls (6-11) have already secured the No. 4 seed for the playoffs.
