Warriors knock out North Johnston

PIKEVILLE -- Charles B. Aycock dominated the singles and doubles matches, and dumped Wilson Hunt 9-0 in a non-conference, girls' tennis contest Wednesday afternoon.
The Golden Falcons (5-5 overall) won each singles match in straight-set fashion. Fourth-seeded Harlie Howard dropped just two games in a 6-1, 6-1 rout of Hunt's Anna Winslow.
Sixth-seeded Katie Gurley and third-seeded Abbey Strickland each lost three just three games in their respective matches. The Golden Falcons also received singles points from Ashley Howell, Hollie Baker and Nicole Kessler.
Howell-Strickland, Baker-Gurley and Howard-Kessler prevailed in doubles.
C.B. Aycock travels to Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference newcomer South Johnston today. First serve is 4 p.m.
