Wayne County Dixie Youth prevails

LUMBERTON -- Brooks Bartlett threw a complete-game six-hitter as Wayne County stopped Kings Mountain 3-2 in the N.C. Dixie Youth Majors state tournament at the Pembroke Recreation Complex.
Wayne County faces either Shallotte or Mount Holly today.
Bartlett logged five strikeouts against Kings Mountain.
Tyler Powell, Nick Leggett, Jordan Salter, Stanton Head, J.R. Toler, Blake Floras and Bartlett provided the offensive firepower.
Wayne County opened tournament action with a 6-5 conquest of Stoney Point. Bartlett and Powell combined for 11 strikeouts on the mound.
Powell delivered a three-hit performance at the plate. Kyler Bradley, Jeffrey Mooring, Head, Austin Tyner, Andrew McKeel and Bartlett contributed one hit apiece.
