FARMVILLE -- Greene Central's Curtis Braswell shoshed his way to the end zone with a game-winning, 97-yard touchdown reception as the Rams outlasted archrival Farmville Central 36-30 on Friday evening.

Braswell's catch, the longest in his career and probably in school history, made Greene Central playoff eligible. The Rams (7-3 overall) improved to 3-1 in Class 2-A Eastern Plains Conference play with North Lenoir coming to Snow Hill next Friday.

The Jaguars dropped to 2-2 in the league.

Trailing 30-21 after three quarters, senior quarterback William Brown pulled the Rams within two points on a 75-yard touchdown run. Abel Real converted his fourth PAT of the evening to make it 30-28.

Backed up at their own 3-yard line, Brown took the snap on a third-and-8 and rolled out. He connected with Braswell for the game-clinching score with 5 minutes, 11 seconds remaining in regulation.

Brown finished with 179 yards passing on 7 of 14 attempts. Braswell, the area's leading receiver, hauled in five receptions for a game-high 144 yards. Danny Moye snagged a 2-yard touchdown pass just before halftime as the Rams claimed a 21-18 lead.

Brown churned out a career-best 230 yards rushing that included touchdown runs of 50, 3 and 75 yards. He ended up responsible for a whopping 374 of Greene Central's 484 total offensive yards.

Aaron Harper and Tyrell Lane provided 29 and 46 yards rushing, respectively. Senior transfer Jamar Branch, ranked among the area's top eight receivers, hauled in a 33-yard pass.

Greene Central owned a 14-12 lead after one quarter on Brown's two touchdown carries. The Jaguars moved ahead 18-14 until Moye's scoring reception before halftime.

Farmville Central posted two third-quarter touchdowns to set the stage for Brown -- and Braswell's -- final-period heroics.

Defensively, Jesse Creech paced the Rams with seven tackles and two sacks. Moye supplied seven stops, while Daron Tripp contributed eight tackles.

Braswell recorded six tackles.
