MISENHEIMER -- Mount Olive seniors Elton Coffield and Elijah Rouse were both named to the first team and Kendrick Easley was selected as Freshman of the Year as the 2006-07 All-Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference men's basketball honors were announced Thursday during the awards banquet at Pfeiffer University.

Coffield is a three-time first-team selection, while Rouse makes his first appearance on the first team after earning second-team honors in 2006. Easley becomes the Trojans' first men's basketball freshman of the year since Chris McDonald in 1996-97.

Coffield's and Rouse's selection marks the first time in school history Mount Olive has placed two players on the All-CVAC men's basketball first team.

Coffield, a 6-4 guard from Williamston (Williamston HS), leads the Trojans in scoring for the third year in a row with 16.6 points per game. He is currently in second place on the Trojans' all-time career scoring list with 1,802 points.

Rouse, a 6-4 forward from Kinston, ranks seventh in the nation in shooting with a 64.3 field goal percentage.

Rouse is averaging 14.4 points per game and he ranks third in the CVAC with 8.4 rebounds per contest. His 22 rebounds against Barton Jan. 18 are the third-highest single-game rebounding total this season in NCAA Division II.

Easley, a 6-1 guard from Norfolk, Va., is averaging 15.4 points per game and has scored in double figures in 22 of 27 games this season. Easley started every game this season before giving up his starting spot for Senior Day.
