Maurice Horton, who entered the game with 998 career points, scored on consecutive possessions to go over the 1,000-point mark and give the Trojans a 14-3 lead less than four minutes into the game.

Pfeiffer (16-10, 11-8) cut the lead to six after Ricky Buffaloe's three-pointer and pair of free throws by Matt Austin. Young's layup began a run of 10 unanswered points as the Trojans outscored Pfeiffer 16-4 and went into the locker room with a 49-31 halftime lead.

Young scored 10 points during the run, including a slam dunk putback off a missed shot.

Young finished with 22 points in the first half, equaling his single-game season high set in the Trojans previous game Saturday against Erskine.

Coffield's layup on Mount Olive's first possession extended Mount Olive's lead to 20, its biggest of the game. The Trojans still held a 17-point lead when the Falcons scored seven unanswered points as Jason Emerson's three-pointer and Dele Ojo's two free throws pulled Pfeiffer within 63-53 with 13:06 left in the game.
