WILSON -- Charles B. Aycock's Rob Phillips scored a team-high 18 points as the Golden Falcons suffered a 74-51 loss at Wilson Hunt in the quarterfinals of the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference tournament on Monday in the Warriors' gymnasium.
The Warriors led by just six after the first quarter, but used an 18-2 run in the second to take a large lead they would never relinquish. Led by a career-high, 27-point effort by Anthony Lewis, No. 3 Hunt (11-14) travels to face second-seeded Kinston on Wednesday in the semifinals.
Lamada Williams added 12 points for No. 6 Aycock (7-17), while Santavin Poole contributed 10 points.
Seniors' Phillips, Poole, Ryan Campbell and Thomas Artis played in their final basketball games for the Falcons.

WCS wins tourney opener
Wayne Christian's Katie Daniels tallied 11 points and nine rebounds as the Eagles defeated Norlina on Monday in the first round of the Carolina Christian 1-A Conference Tournament.
Michelle Krug added nine points for the Eagles (9-16), who travel to Cresset Christian for a semifinal contest today.
Brooke Norris chipped in 10 rebounds to go with four points and four steals, while Hope Wright had six rebounds and four points.

Eagles advance to second round
Wayne Christian's Eric Williams posted a triple-double with 17 points, 12 rebounds and 11 steals to help boost the Eagles to a 42-24 win over Cary Christian on Monday in the first round of the Carolina Christian 1-A Conference Tournament.
John Norris added 11 points for WCS (13-6), while Colton Woods contributed seven points.
The Eagles travel to Cape Fear Christian in Erwin for a semifinal contest.

WCDS takes season finale
WILSON -- Wayne Country Day's Kim Martell led the Lady Chargers with 12 points in a 39-19 win over Greenfield School on Friday.
Virginia Best added 11 points for WCDS, which concluded the season at 6-3 overall.
