Faith Christian's Josh Brannan scored 27 points in two games to help boost the Conquerors to the championship of the Faith Christian Tip-Off Tournament.

Brannan was named MVP in the tourney as the Conquerors (6-0) defeated Tabernacle-Monroe 62-41 on Friday, before topping Bethel Christian-Kinston 59-50 on Saturday in the championship.

Against Bethel, Aaron Sladick led Faith with 22 points, while Brannan added 13 points and 10 rebounds. T.J. Sasser added 10 points for Faith, which shot 23-26 as a team from the free-throw line.

On Friday, Sasser led the way with 17 points and 12 assists as Brannan contributed 14 points and Jonathan McNeese, who was named to the all-tournament team, added eight points.

The Conquerors return to action on Dec. 13 at Mount Calvary in Hookerton.

Faith in championship

Faith Christian's Elizabeth Clarke scored 12 points as the Conquerors suffered a 43-33 loss to Bethel Christian-Kinston on Saturday in the championship of the Faith Christian Tip-Off Tournament at home.

Natalie Thibeaux added eight points and eight rebounds for the Conquerors (3-2), while teammate Lindsey Godwin posted nine points.

Bethel's Courtney Spence, who was named the tournament MVP, tallied a team-high nine points as Brittany Jones scored 10.

Clarke and Thibeaux were named to the all-tournament team for Faith, which travels to Mount Calvary in Hookerton on Tuesday.

Warriors drop

South Central

Jonathan Hill led three Eastern Wayne players in double figures with 17 points as the Warriors improved to 3-2 with a 82-60 win at home over South Central.

Darian Cahill added 16 points for Eastern Wayne, while teammate Dwight Ulmer chipped in 14.

The Warriors return to action on Tuesday at home against archrival Goldsboro.
