MOUNT OLIVE -- Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference regular season champion Mount Olive moved up one more spot to No. 6 in this week's NCAA Division II Volleyball Atlantic Regional Poll, the final poll before post-season selections are announced. The ranking is the highest this season for Mount Olive, which is on an 11-match winning streak.

Mount Olive is 26-6 overall and captured its first-ever regular season CVAC title with a 19-1 mark as the Trojans set a CVAC record for most conference wins in a season. Mount Olive broke a first-place tie in its regular season finale with a five-game win at seven-time defending champion Lees-McRae, which fell to No. 10 in the poll.

Two-time Atlantic Region champion Lock Haven is No. 1 again this week, followed by California (Pa.) at No. 2 and Edinboro at No. 3. Teams from the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference hold the top five spots and eight of the top 10 positions.

Seedings and pairings will be announced Sunday for the 2005 NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship. Eight teams will receive bids to the Atlantic Regional - champions of the CVAC, PSAC and CIAA Tournaments, along with five at-large teams.

Mount Olive is the No. 1 seed in this weekend's CVAC Volleyball Tournament at Laurinburg, N.C., hosted by St. Andrews Presbyterian College. Mount Olive earns a first-round bye, then opens play Saturday at 11:30 a.m. in the quarterfinal round against the winner of Friday's first round match between No. 8 seed Barton and No. 9 seed Anderson.

The semifinal rounds take place Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. The championship match is scheduled for Sunday at 2 p.m.
