Most players have to wait years and years to have their jerseys retired.

For Jenny Jackson, it took just months.

Jackson, a three-time, all-state pitcher for Charles B. Aycock who helped lead the Golden Falcons to the Final Four just this past spring, had her jersey retired during halftime the Aycock vs. Eastern Wayne football game.

Now a pitcher at Western Carolina University, Jackson tossed 12 no-hitters and four perfect games at Aycock, had 821 career strikeouts and a minuscule 0.49 ERA from 2001-04.

She had an overall record of 64-9, with four of those losses coming in the Final Four and three of the remaining five by one run. Jackson threw 87 innings without allowing an earned run as a sophomore and had 41 career shutouts.

As a hitter, she had a career .397 batting average and was all-conference for four years and ECC Player of the Year three times.
