GREENVILLE -- East Carolina will welcome North Carolina State, North Carolina, West Virginia and Virginia to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium during the next two seasons as part of an adjustment to the Pirates' future scheduling agreement, ECU director of athletics Terry Holland announced Monday.

While the original agreement, which was released June 23, 2005, featured eight meetings against Virginia Tech and four against N.C. State, the revised version of ECU's future schedules now include nine matchups against the Hokies and six against the Wolfpack which will extend into the 2016 season.

ECU and N.C. State will play three times each at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium and Carter-Finley Stadium while Virginia Tech will travel to Greenville four times, host the Pirates in Blacksburg on four occasions and meet once in Charlotte (2007).

The Pirates and Wolfpack will renew a series which began in 1970 with meetings in Raleigh during the 2006, 2009 and 2013 seasons. N.C. State will play at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in 2007, 2010 and 2016.

"Virginia Tech worked with us to create room on our 2006 schedule to add N.C. State," Holland said. "They have been gracious to accommodate our scheduling needs and we look forward to a great nine-year series beginning in 2007."

The Hokies and Pirates, who were originally scheduled to play next season in Blacksburg, will now push back their series renewal to 2007 at Charlotte's Bank of America Stadium. Virginia Tech will make the first of four visits to Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium in 2009.

ECU's 2006 non-conference schedule now consists of home matchups against Virginia and West Virginia, and road dates at N.C. State and Navy. The Pirates will follow in 2007 with home contests against N.C. State and North Carolina, a road game at West Virginia and a neutral site clash vs. Virginia Tech.
