PRINCETON -- Princeton's Karter Yutzy scored 20 points -- well of over half of his team's offensive output -- in a 35-31 win at home over Holly Ridge Dixon on Thursday.

The win improves the Bulldogs to 5-3 overall heading into tonight's game at home with Louisburg.

Jordan Davis led Dixon, which scored just one point in the second period, with 13 points.

Pate, Gainey pace Bulldogs

PRINCETON -- Princeton's Dustin Pate scored 12 points, while teammate Will Gainey added 11 in the Bulldogs' 62-53 win at home over Holly Ridge Dixon on Thursday.

Dixon's Shawn Neal led all scorers with 18 points.

Princeton (2-4) hosts Louisburg today.

Middle schools

Goldsboro boys 62, Spring Creek 29 -- Spring Creek's Tray King had 15 points and two rebounds, while Lucas Potter had 11 points and three blocks. The Gators fell to 4-4 overall on the season, but remain unbeaten in Division II at 4-0.

Wrestling

Gators' matmen prevail on the road

BEULAVILLE -- Spring Creek dominated the upper weights and eased past East Duplin 37-30 in a recently contested non-conference match.

Junior Molino (160 pounds), Antwon Greenfield (171), Billy Salazar (189), WesDenham (215) and heavyweight Orlando Rodriguez each recorded a pinfall.

Lower weights Darrin Straub (119) and Tyreek Moody (125) each earned a pin.

Team captain Tim Buckingham (152) won by forfeit.

Spring Creek, which picked up its second win, is scheduled to wrestle Saturday in the Wildcat Invitational at Bunn High School. First-round matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
