The "magic number" for the Mount Olive College women's basketball team is 75. The significance of the number isn't necessarily basketball-related, but it is the forecast high temperature of the locale for the Trojans' basketball game on Saturday.

Mount Olive plays the first of two games during its trip to Florida as the Trojans head to Miami to face Barry College in non-conference women's basketball action. Tip-off is 2 p.m.

Mount Olive (2-1) is playing for the first time since its 57-41 NCAA Division II Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference victory against Erskine (S.C.) College on Dec. 4 at College Hall. Shenetta Moye led the Trojans with 12 points, while Teneal Boone recorded her second double-double in three games with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Latoria Harvey came within one point of a double-double with nine points and a game-high 12 rebounds. The Trojans outrebounded Erskine 46-25.

Ladora Charles leads the Trojans in scoring with a 10.7 average, while Boone is averaging 10 points and nine rebounds per contest. Boone is also averaging 1.3 blocked shots per game.

Defense has been the theme for Mount Olive in the early going as the Trojans have limited their first three opponents to an average of 48.3 points per game. Mount Olive held its opponents under 45 points in each of its two wins. The Trojans have outrebounded their opponents by an average of 47.3-33 and have held opponents to a field goal percentage of 31.4 percent.

Barry (6-3) is coming off a 68-62 loss at West Florida last Saturday.

Nicole Denmon, a transfer from Division I Drake, leads Barry with 14.1 points per game.
