GREENVILLE -- Wayne Christian School's Stacie McCary scored 13 points to help boost the Eagles to a 43-36 road victory at Trinity of Greenville.

Brooke Norris added eight points for Wayne Christian, while Ashley Clark and Jennica Botonis each chipped in seven points. The Eagles (3-2) will host Cary on Friday.

Midway edges

Rosewood

Rosewood's Clare Narron led the Eagles with 12 points in a 46-40 home loss to Midway on Tuesday.

Courtney Hill added 10 points for the Eagles, who return to action on Thursday at Midway. Jessica Hill contribued nine points for Rosewood (0-1), while Latitia Wade provided seven points.

Rebels past Dixon

CALYPSO -- North Duplin's Sierra Ward tallied 27 points as the Rebels emerged with a 44-39 win at home over Holly Ridge Dixon on Tuesday in their season opener.

North Duplin outscored the Bulldogs 17-7 in the final quarter on its way to the victory.

The Rebels (1-0) travel to Hobbton on Friday.

Dixon fell to 3-1 on the season.

SNOW HILL -- Greene Central's Teketia May dropped in 13 points to help the Rams to a 38-33 win at home over Ayden-Grifton.

The win boosts Greene Central to 4-1 on the season as Briana Stanton chipped in 11 points.

Keke Pugh paced the Chargers with 16 points.

The Rams return to action Friday night at Farmville Central.

Warriors take

first win of season

WINTERVILLE -- Eastern Wayne's Sherrel Burt led the way with 11 points as the Warriors claimed a 36-34 win at South Central on Tuesday.

Eastern Wayne's Noelle Kelly added 10 points as the Warriors improved to 1-4 overall and 1-0 in the Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference.

The Warriors host Washington Friday at home.

Rosewood takes

season opener

Rosewood's Mary Jo Moore dropped in 11 points to guide the Eagles past Midway 32-18 on Tuesday at Rosewood.

Ashley Williams added nine points for the Eagles (1-0), while Kara Narron chipped in seven points.

Hawks suffer

first loss

LAGRANGE -- North Lenoir lost for the first time this season on Tuesday, falling 43-31 to East Duplin.

Helena Davis led the Hawks with 15 points, while Katie Herring paced East Duplin with 11 points.

Middle schools

Goldsboro girls 31, Brogden 30 -- Goldsboro's Victoria Williams paced her team with 16 points. Goldsboro (2-1) entertains Dillard next on Thursday at Goldsboro High.

Eastern Wayne girls 40, Rosewood 16 -- Eastern Wayne's Eboni Reid scored 15 points to lead all scorers. Paige Babb dropped in seven points for the Eagles (0-3). The Warriors (3-0) host Spring Creek Thursday, while Rosewood travels to Brogden.
