LOCK HAVEN, Pa. -- Mount Olive College outside hitters Heidi Busch and Anna Luft each earned AVCA Division II Volleyball All-Atlantic Region honors announced Tuesday by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Busch was named to the All-Region first team for the second consecutive year, while Luft earned All-Region honorable mention.

A 5-11 junior from Fort Wayne, Ind., Busch leads the nation in total kills with 701 and ranks third in the nation in kills per game with a 5.57 average. A 2003 AVCA All-America honorable mention, Busch was named to the all-tournament team at this year's Atlantic Regional in the NCAA Division II Volleyball Championship. She was also named to the All-Carolinas-Virginia Athletics Conference first team for the third consecutive year.

In addition, Busch became the first volleyball player in CVAC history to earn player of the week honors four times in a single season, including each of the final three weeks of the season. Busch reached double figures in kills in each of her 36 starts this season, including 34 kills against St. Andrews and 33 kills against Barton.

Luft, a 5-10 sophomore from Swansboro, ranks 16th in the nation with a .381 hitting percentage. She also ranks third in the CVAC in aces per game with a 0.59 average and eighth in the conference in kills per game with a 3.34 average. Luft had 11 matches with at least 10 kills and a .500 hitting percentage, including a 20-kill performance against Barton in the first round of the CVAC Tournament. Luft was the 2003 CVAC freshman of the year.

Mount Olive posted an overall record of 24-13 and finished second in the CVAC regular-season standings for the third consecutive year with a 15-3 mark. The Trojans received first-ever bid to the NCAA Division II Women's Volleyball Championship, earning the No. 6 seed in the Atlantic Regional.
