Football -- James Kenan cruises past N. Lenoir

WARSAW -- James Kenan scored consistently through the game, picking up over 300 yards total offense as the Tigers clawed past North Lenoir 30-14 Friday night at Bill Taylor Field.
Kenan used two second-half touchdowns to break open a 14-14 tie from halftime. Matt Bass capped a third-quarter drive with a six-yard touchdown pass from Kelvin Miller, and Ronnie Williams ran in from 16 yards out to score with under two minutes to play. Williams had 197 yards and three touchdowns for the game, including a 60-yard run and an 82-yard kickoff return.
The Hawks had two rushers cross the 100-yard mark. Antonio Hamilton had 117 yards on 27 carries and scored on a 22-yard touchdown catch from Andrew Manning in the second period to tie the game before the half. E.J. Brown had 105 yards rushing on 12 carries.
The Tigers (5-1) will take next week off before traveling to Lakewood on Oct. 8 in the Super Six 1-A Conference opener for both teams.
