Greene Central takes down Greenfield
SNOW HILL -- Greene Central's Meredith Rouse started the afternoon with a 6-2, 6-2 win at number one singles over Greenfield School's Anna Wooten Gauss as the Rams rolled to a 9-0 win on Monday.
Rouse improved to 13-3 on the year.
Sarah Moore (13-3), Summer Chase (14-2), Holly Mace (14-1), Ashley Harrell (15-1) and Christi Murphy (15-1) also provided straight-set singles wins for Greene Central, who improved to 15-1 overall on the season. The Rams also swept in doubles.
Greenfield fell to 6-6 on the season.
The Rams face another non-conference test on Wednesday at East Chapel Hill.

KINSTON -- North Lenoir's Rachel Sasser and Heather Phillips emerged with singles wins at number five and six, respectively, but Wilson Beddingfield claimed a 6-3 win over the Hawks on Monday in Kinston.
North Lenoir's only other win of the afternoon came at number three doubles as Ashley Fillipeli and Madison Gray defeated the Bruins' Mandi Goff and Katie Mitchell 8-1.
The Hawks (6-8) host North Pitt today.

Aycock wins

Charles B. Aycock swept five-of-six singles matches on its way to an 8-1 win at Herman Park over Washington on Monday.
The Falcons' Lizzie Sodoma, Katie Perry, Kristen Prosser, Emilee Quinn and Kristen Bennett all claimed singles wins for Aycock, who improved to 7-3 overall.
Aycock swept the doubles contests.
The Falcons return to action today at Mount Olive College against TEACH.
