Creech takes Carolina girls meet -- Spring Creek boys are second
North Johnston's Heather Creech ran a 21:10 to claim first place in a Class 1-A Carolina Conference meet at Cliffs of the Neuse State Park on Wednesday.
The Panther girls won the girls meet with 27 team points, while Princeton took second with 38. Rosewood (84) and Spring Creek (87) rounded out the team scoring.
In the boys meet, Farmville Central's C.J. Eason won with a 17:39 as the Jaguars finished first with 38 points. The Gators (55) took second, while North Johnston (60) was third. North Duplin (83) and Princeton (117) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
Spring Creek's top boy finisher, Eric Walters, took second with a 17:54. Barbara Witherington took 12th for the Gator girls.
No further information was submitted on the meet.
The next conference meet is Sept. 22 at Farmville Central.

split meet
DEEP RUN -- Greene Central's boys won a two-team meet with South Lenoir on Wednesday -- finishing with 24 team points to South Lenoir's 35.
The Blue Devil girls took the girls meet with 20 team points as the Ram girls finished with 35.
South Lenoir's Coleman Heath (18:13) claimed first in the boys meet, while the Blue Devils' Latoya Graham.
Tony Tyson was the top finisher for the Ram boys, taking second with a 19:28. Blair Carraway claimed fourth in the girls meet with a 25:03.
Greene Central travels to Wilson Beddingfield on Monday in a non-conference meet.
