Volleyball -- Rosewood rallies past A-Grifton

LITTLEFIELD -- Rosewood lost the opening set, but rebounded to defeat Ayden-Grifton 21-25, 25-21, 25-9, 25-18 in a Carolina 1-A Conference match Thursday afternoon.
Senior middle hitter Jessica Hill turned in a career-best 29 kills to go along with four blocks, two aces and one assist. Abigail Barrow added a season-high 13 assists and knocked down two aces.
"We had better communication tonight, we still have a long way to go," Rosewood coach Jennifer Cochran said.
Kelli Gurley added four kills and two aces, while Katy Morris contributed seven kills. Morgan Wheeler collected six kills. Clare Narron turned in a six-assist, one-kill effort.
Kasey Grey chipped in two blocks.
Rosewood (6-1, 1-1 CC) travels to Spring Creek next Tuesday.
