Golf -- Saints' Hill grabs medalist honors, but Gators prevail

DUDLEY -- Jordan Hill seized medalist honors with a nine-hole score of 56 as Southern Wayne fell to Spring Creek 117-125 on Thursday afternoon at Southern Wayne Country Club.
Alyssa Bradshaw added a 69 for the Saints, who were playing their season-opening match. Lynn Grantham and Trisha Blackman also participated.
Hannah Lane and Paula Webber led the Gators with rounds of 58 and 59, respectively. Jennifer Johnson and Amanda Smith also played.
Southern Wayne (0-1) heads to Lane Tree next Tuesday for a Class 3-A Eastern Carolina Conference match. Spring Creek, meanwhile, is the guest of East Duplin next Wednesday.
