SNOW HILL -- Greene Central remained unbeaten in three outings with a 9-0 victory against Carolina/Eastern Plains 1-A/2-A opponent Tarboro High on Thursday afternoon.
Top-seeded Meredith Rouse, the reigning EPC singles champion; Sarah Moore, Summer Chase, Holly Mace, Ashley Harrell and Christi Murphy each claimed a straight-set singles win.
"Sarah played her best match of the week in singles," veteran Rams coach Donald Clark said. "She moved the ball well and stepped into her shots. She also did a much better job of moving the ball around the court.
"Ashley and Christi continued to play consistent tennis for us. Both girls are steadily improving as their conditioning improves. The bottom of the line-up has been steady as a rock for us early in the season."
Moore, Harrell and Murphy did not lose a game.
Greene Central travels to Fayetteville Terry Sanford next Monday afternoon.
