Charger soccer team opens season with win

GREENVILLE -- Kevin Logan recorded a hat trick as Wayne Country Day shut out Greenville Christian School Saturday in the opening game of the season for the Chargers.
Logan led the Charger attack while Sam Steed notched a goal and two assists and Gerorge Mayo recorded a goal. Jeff Reanklin had an assist for Wayne Country Day (1-0).
Goalkeeper Ryan Ford made 10 saves and picked up a shutout as the Chargers outshot Greenville Christian 30-10.
Wayne Country Day will be at home Tuesday to meet Cape Fear Academy.
