Track -- Rosewood takes two from Gators

Michael Spriggs and Jeremy Reusch each won two individual events as Rosewood ran past Spring Creek 99-47 in a Carolina 1-A Conference meet Thursday afternoon.

Spriggs recorded a meet-winning distance of 44 feet, 8 1/2 inches in the shot put and mark of 124-2 in the discus. Reusch also exceeded in the field with a mark of 38-2 in the triple jump. He captured the 110 high hurdles in 17.5 seconds.

James Reusch (300 hurdles), Shawn Young (pole vault), Danny Langston (800) and Bryce Havenook (3,200) each gained an individual win.

Spring Creek's McKenzie Jones enjoyed an outstanding afternoon by winning the 100, 200, 400 runs; and the long jump. Teammates Lelo Burt and Walters each recorded an individual win.

On the girls' side, Sequoia Cox turned won four events -- shot put, 100, discus and 200. Those strong showings helped the Eagles squeeze out a 71-64 victory over a much-improved and talented Gator squad.

Christy Skowronski emerged a triple winner for Rosewood in the 100 hurdles, 1,600-meter run and 3,200 run. The Eagles also got individual wins from Kerry Garner (long jump) and Erica Murray (pole vault).

Christina Fenwick grabbed the triple jump and 300 low hurdles for the Gators. Teammates Shantell Patterson won the high jump, while Kathryn Washington claimed the 800.
