Track -- Goldsboro girls second, boys third

WINTERVILLE -- Goldsboro High's 400-meter relay teams, boys and girls, each prevailed in an Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference tri-meet contested Thursday afternoon at South Central.
The boys turned in a time of 44.4 seconds, while the girls crossed the line 54.8.
South Central edged West Carteret 72-69 in the overall team score. Goldsboro had 31.
In the girls' meet, West Carteret won with a 76, while Goldsboro nipped South Central 36-35.
The Falcons return to action for the Eastern Carolina 3-A Conference championship meet on May 8 at West Carteret.
