Track -- Rosewood boys claim Carolina meet

Rosewood's boys made it two straight wins over Carolina 1-A Conference rival Farmville Central Monday after downing the Jags in a four-team track meet at the Eagles facility.
Rosewood outdistanced Farmville Central 119 to 67, with Spring Creek tying the Jags for second place with 67 points. North Duplin was fourth with 11 points.

Farmville's girls won a tight four-team girls meet, scoring 84 points to Rosewood's 71. Spring Creek was next with 54 points and North Duplin piled up 39 points to finish fourth.
The Eagle boys were led by a set of wins for Jeremy Reusch in the triple jump (36 feet, 8 1/2 inches), the 300 hurdles (44.40 seconds) and the 110 hurdles (17.89). Reusch's twin brother James Reusch placed second in the long jump and in both hurdles events. Other Rosewood winners included Bryce Havenook in the 3200 (12:32), Shawn Young in the pole vault (9-0), and the 800 meter relay team of Brandon Briggs, Tyler Daniels, Bradley Mullins and Javon Williams (1:40.27).
Spring Creek's McKenzie Jones had a strong day, winning the 100 meters (11.40), the 2200 meters (22,66), the 400 meters (55.31) and the long jump (21-1/2). Lelo Burt won the high jump for Spring Creek (5-10).
North Duplin's best finisher was John Williams in the 3200, placing third.
The girls meet saw strong performances by Rosewood's Sa'Coya Cox, who won the discus (68-6), the shot put (27-2 1/2), and the 100 meters (13.73). Teammate Heather Murray won the 300 hurdles (56:02) and was second in the 100 hurdles, while Kortne Muntz won the pole vault (6-6) and Kerry Garner won the 400 (1:11.19).
Spring Creek's Christina Fenwick won the 100 hurdles (19.09) and was second to Murray in the 300 hurdles and second in the triple jump.
North Duplin's points came mostly from the distance events, where Amy Arthur won the 3200 (12:42) and the 1600 (5:46). Arthur anchored the 1600 and 3200 relay teams to wins, with Antonetta Hanchey, Bethany Malcolm, and Emily Diebert and Jamie Vinson.
