Novella Mooring Walston Bradshaw, 83, Goldsboro, was called home Thursday, July 5, 2018, to the loving arms of Jesus Christ her Lord.

Novella was raised in Wayne County by the late Florence Moore Walston and Stephen Junior Walston.

She was married for 50 years to David Earl Bradshaw, who preceded her in deathMay 23, 2016.

Novella was a valued employee of Excell-Linde Products in Goldsboro for more than 25 years. She later went to work in the cafeteria of Wayne County public schools, where she enjoyed the opportunities given to her to impact the lives of so many students.

Novella was a longtime member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church. She was devoted to her church, sang in the choir, was a member of Friendship Sunday school class and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

Throughout her life, Novella lived her life with resiliency and a love for life. She faced her obstacles with grace and dignity and with an abiding faith in Jesus Christ. She could light up a room with her joyous personality and radiant smile.

She was an amazing mother and grandmother to her children and grandchildren. Anyone who knew her knew she could make friends with anyone and was a kind and loving person to all she met. Novella was blessed to have so many family and lifelong friends to share her wonderful memories and experiences with over the years.

A service to celebrate the Christian life of Novella will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

Interment will be at 1 p.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.

Novella is survived by her daughters, Gail Bradshaw Prasad and husband, Krishna, and Sarah Bradshaw Dail; son, Tommy Bradshaw and wife, Deahdra; special sister-in-law/daughter, Patricia Gross and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Jessica Dail Pittman (Sean), Angie P. McCumbee (Trent), Shannon P. Culliane, Christie B. Lane (Mike) Brittney B. Harrell (Kyle), Rajesh Prasad (Catrina), special niece and granddaughter, Shelly Magliochetti and husband, Brandon; great-grandchildren, Allie Bradshaw, Levi McCumbee, and Dereck Prasad; and special niece and great-grandchild, Shelby Magliochetti.

She is also survived by several nieces and nephews she loved very much.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her birth parents, Thomas and Etta Mooring; grandson, Joshua Dail; sisters, Hazel Santos, Mary Morgan and Lucille Brogden; and brothers, David Mooring and David Garlon “Shine” Walston Sr.

We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the love and care it provided for Novella during her final days. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

Also, a thank you to the caregivers of Novella over the past year, which includes Helen, Gail, Linda, Carolyn, Annie and Alberta.
