JERRY HOWELL

July 18, 1972-May 17, 2018

Jerry Howell, 45, completed his journey home Thursday, May 17, 2018, to the welcoming words, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”

Jerry was a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, whose love for life and others was apparent to all who met him.

Jerry was born in Wayne County July 18, 1972, to Kenneth Howell of Pikeville and the late Faye Smith Howell.

He owned and operated his own electrical business, Current Electrical Services and Installation.

When diagnosed with cancer, Jerry remained dedicated in his work and in his will to fight his illness. He remained a brave, iron-willed man, even throughout his final months.

Jerry was a very strong believer in Jesus Christ, and felt that nothing was impossible when you place your trust in God. He was a member of the Pikeville Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, where he was involved in many of children's ministries at the church, including the puppet ministry. His faith gave him the courage to face anything in life.

Most importantly to Jerry was his family. Jerry worked so hard to make sure his wife and children were well taken care of because they were his world. Jerry was the best daddy, who was always involved in the children's activities as coach, friend and daddy, and he will be truly missed.

He was serving as the safety officer with Little River Fire Department.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 20, 2018, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at Pikeville Church, followed by a service to celebrate Jerry’s life at 3 p.m., with pastor Mark Whitfield and pastor Don Sauls officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery in Fremont.

In addition to his father, Jerry is survived by his wife, Julie Pate Howell, and the apples of his eye, his daughters, Riley and Kennedi.

He is also survived by his brother, William Cassady; sister, Susie Aderholt; special adopted daughter, Makayla Williams; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jackie and Denny Pate; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ginger and Hilt Winders and their children, Eli, Jeremiah and Luke; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, J.R. and Cindi Pate and their children, Austin, Spencer, Brandy and Shay; special friends, Ken and Jennifer Hansley; as well as many other nieces and nephews he loved very much.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmie Cassady and Casey Howell.

Jerry’s family would like to acknowledge the staff of Kitty Askins Hospice Center, as well as the friends, caregivers, nurses and physicians who had a profound impact on the quality of Jerry’s life in recent months.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
